ADSL Troubleshooting guide
If you are experiencing no connectivity to your Internet and emails via your ADSL, here are a few steps to follow:

Turnoff power of adsl modem / router or pull out the electrical power cable at the back and wait for 10 seconds before turning on again
NOTE: If your adsl modem / adsl router does not have an on/off switch, unplug it from the electrical outlet to turn it off.
2. Wait for the adsl modem / adsl router to initialize and ready itself.
3. The adsl modem / adsl router will then show steady lights which will be your Power,LAN and ADSL/DSL light ( N.B if ADSL light has a persistent flashing light,check all cables are plugged into the adsl router / adsl modem correctly and follow step 1.IF ADSL light does not go steady after 5 minutes, call Telkom on 0800 375 375 where they will check for any line problems
4. If the ADSL light goes steady, browse the Internet to check if you can get websites like www.google.co.za and do a test search .
5. If no websites come up restart your computer as well and try again.
Here are links where you can check your usage and increase your bandwidth before you reach your cap limit.
You’ll be asked for your email username and password
Increase your bandwidth for just the current month by clicking on the drop down arrow and selecting the required GIG you wish. Once done click on Change Cap.
Please note: After changing your cap limit - power off and power on your adsl router / adsl modem or redial your PPPOE connection.
